Eye diseases and vision loss are among the most prevalent health challenges faced by many in developing countries, especially in Africa. According to the World Health Organization, over 36 million people globally suffer from blindness, and more than 80% of blindness cases can be prevented or treated with the necessary medical care. In many regions lacking adequate healthcare, many people experience vision loss from easily treatable conditions like cataracts, which can be addressed with a simple surgery.
The Eye Surgery Campaign aims to restore sight to those who have lost it due to treatable eye conditions.
The campaign focuses on funding surgeries that treat cataracts and other eye diseases causing blindness. Through this initiative, we strive to provide direct assistance to individuals who cannot afford these simple surgeries, thereby improving their quality of life and helping them regain their independence.
